No One Can See the Hidden Ocean I've Created is an anthology of poems by the eighth-grade students at the Academy for Young Writers. The works chart the challenging and ever-changing boundaries between how the world sees us, and how we see ourselves. These poems are honest, generous, wry, tender, hilarious, and perfectly impatient with the notion that we are each only allowed to be just one thing.

Proceeds from the sale of this book benefit 826NYC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students, ages six to eighteen, with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
